New Jersey: Soil Health Conference

March 9, 2010. Burlington County College, Mount Laurel, NJ.  The purpose of the Soil Health Conference is to gain an Understanding of Soil Health Connections with regard to: Stormwater Runoff Impacts, Climate Change and Soil Ecosystem Services, Stream Erosion and Impacts on Aquatic Environments, Groundwater Recharge-Quantity and Quality, and Sustainable Agriculture.

California: Soil Science Licensing Discussion

The Geology Board of California has requested to address the NSCSS Annual Conference. The agenda has been revised accordingly, with time added to discuss possible registration for soil scientists in CA. This will be at the Delta King, Old Town Sacramento, March 5-6 (geomorphology field trip March 7). PSSAC members will receive the same registration rate as NSCSS members. Time is of the essence.

Virginia Soil Scientists to Discuss Regulation of "Soil Evaluators"

VAPSS is joining forces with the VA Authorized Onsite Soil Evaluators (VDH) to amend legislation to require that either CPSS or AOSE be the only licensed people to evaluate soils for septic drainfields.
