Professional Liability Insurance Available To Consulting Soil Scientists
The main liability exposure for Soil Scientists involves potential Errors and Omissions actions resulting from consulting and testing activities.
Unfortunately, standard General Liability policies excludes professional
services claims. This coverage is only available through a Professional
Liability policy, which is typically quite expensive relative to a general
liability policy, and out of the reach of the average Soil Scientist.
After literally years of searching, the National Society of Consulting Soil Scientists, Inc. has negotiated an unprecedented insurance program for Soil Scientists throughout North America. This is a great value and available in all states! Coverage is available to consulting Soil Scientist individuals and firms who are members or associates of the National Society of Consulting Soil Scientists, Inc.
NSCSS is pleased to introduce its new group

The carrier is rated A+ (Excellent) by A.M. Best and is offered only to NSCSS
Members.
A "preferred rate" is offered to NSCSS Registered Professional Soil
Scientists (RPSS), and there is a minimum base premium of $2000, and a
basic deductible of $5000. This is the same coverage as we have had in the
past, plus there are additional benefits. They are willing to write
additional riders if you need more than the standard $1 Million/$2 Million
coverage. The application process is very straightforward, taking less
than an hour to complete.
At the start of 2004, NSCSS members utilizing this program will be invoiced
a service fee of $35 with their membership renewal, and members who are
part of the Registry (RPSS) will be invoiced $50.00. This is to provide
overall E & O protection coverage for the Society, the Registry program,
and the Society's officers.
