The main liability exposure for Soil Scientists involves potential Errors and Omissions actions resulting from consulting and testing activities. Unfortunately, standard General Liability policies excludes professional services claims. This coverage is only available through a Professional Liability policy, which is typically quite expensive relative to a general liability policy, and out of the reach of the average Soil Scientist.
