NSCSS Bylaws Approved by Board of Directors, March 4, 2009

The Committee has submitted nominations. Nominations closed September 30th and Balloting closed December 31st, 2009. We greatly appreciate those among you who accept the challenge of serving in our elected offices, especially in these difficult financial times. It is particularly gratifying to see all available positions matched with candidates.

Zotero is a free piece of software that lives in your Firefox browser, helping you to 'collect, manage and cite your research sources' in all sorts of beautiful ways. Zotero is easily one of the best bibliographic managers out there. I am trying to make it work for my soil and wetland project reference lists.

Q: What do Board members do?

The regular members of the Society elect the officers and the Board of Directors and rely on them for the basic governance of the Society. The Board sets policy, approves the budget and makes occasional changes to the bylaws. The officers make up the Executive Committee, which performs the day-to-day governance of the Society.
