The United States Consortium of Soil Science Associations (USCSSA) was established in 2001 to promote national communication and coordination between soils societies / associations. NSCSS is a charter member of USCSSA and a member of the USCSSA governing Council.

The goal of USCSSA is to promote communications and visibility of state professional soil scientists societies / associations and similar societies / associations in the United States on common soil survey issues including soil interpretations, acquisitions, applications of soil survey data, and outreach to general public and elected decision makers in wise use of science-based soil survey information for protection and management of the nation's soil resources.

A USCSSA objective important to NSCSS is USCSSA's goal is to maintain a web-site contact for those interested soil scientists to have their address and professional references listed that would be available to private industry, state and local units of government and federal agencies as a potential source of contact for soil survey services.
